JMA Wireless Showcases its Leading-Edge Solutions at CommunicAsia

Attendees can experience the next iteration of the JMA Teko platform, which reduces the core cellular resources necessary to cover metropolitan and campus areas

Singapore, Malaysia [CommunicAsia] – June 2, 2015 -- JMA Wireless, a global innovator of wireless communications solutions, will present the next evolution of its Teko DAS (Distributed Antenna System) platform in booth# 1M2-08 at CommunicAsia, June 2-5, at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.  This iteration is known as C-DAS or Centralized Distributed Antenna System.  C-DAS provides significantly better utilization when centralizing resources to enable cellular coverage and capacity for metro and campus environments.

C-DAS enables centralized RAN serving locations or central BTS (Base Transceiver Station) hotels to support numerous surrounding venues, preserving valuable onsite real estate for income generation or other key activities.  It converges multiple operators and multiple bands onto a minimum set of fiber to reduce the required connectivity to locations by up to 10 times.  Centralized administration uses an integral supervisory channel across the fiber to streamline operations.

Many campus environments or metro areas include a combination of sport stadiums, business offices, and other types of venues, which require different levels of service during a week.  With the new TCM3-4 Capacity Manager module and its TWS4 four port RF switch module, the C-DAS architecture can reutilize sectors across an area and support a reduction in head-end eNodeB equipment by up to 25 percent.  In addition, the Teko C-DAS architecture with Capacity Manager utilizes only a single fiber per remote.  This solution allows engineers to redirect sectors used during the week by a business center to a stadium on a week-end game day to ensure necessary cellular capacity and coverage.  These configurations are facilitated via Teko’s OMT (Operation and Maintenance Terminal), resulting in minimal manual intervention and facility visits.

“Cellular coverage and capacity across metro areas and campus environments is growing; therefore, the re-utilization of sector resources is key,” said Todd Landry, Corporate Vice President of Product and Market Strategy at JMA Wireless.  “The C-DAS solution with the Capacity Manager is a cost-effective and efficient way to provide wireless communications when and where needed.”

JMA Wireless’ extensive portfolio also includes universal compression connectors, numerous antenna options, and factory-built jumpers, which are PIM optimized and engineered for macro, small cell, outdoor DAS and in-building DAS needs.  Attendees can experience these solutions at the JMA Wireless booth (1M2-08).
