JMA Wireless Teko DAS Platform Receives NEBS Level 3 Certification

Fastest Growing DAS Solution Meets Strict NEBS Requirements

Liverpool, New York – August 12, 2015 -- JMA Wireless, a global innovator of wireless communications solutions, announced today that its powerful Teko DAS (Distributed Antenna System) platform has been accredited for Level 3 NEBS (Network Equipment Building Standards).

As the demand for in-building and outdoor wireless coverage continues to grow, the industry is turning to flexible and highly scalable approaches such as the Teko C-DAS (Centralized Distributed Antenna System) architecture.  This approach compliments C-RAN by connecting independent carrier C-RAN locations to targeted multi-carrier coverage areas using a reduced front-haul fiber network.  A NEBS Level 3 certified C-DAS architecture enables carriers to utilize central office locations that require strict equipment characteristics defined by the NEBS standards.

“These are challenging tests, which are critical for the next evolution of high density wireless coverage solutions that will leverage C-DAS architectures,” said Todd Landry Corporate Vice President of Product and Market Strategy at JMA Wireless.  “Achieving NEBS Level 3 certification is a testament to the advanced level of engineering at the foundation of the Teko platform.”

NEBS Level 3 certification is founded on a set of carrier-class standards maintained by Telcordia Technologies and centered around strict requirements based on GR-63-CORE and GR-1089-CORE standards.  The testing goes further to meet requirements established by carriers, Verizon and AT&T, under VZ.TPR-9305 and ATT-TP-76200, respectively.  These requirements cover capabilities such as fire suppression, thermal margin testing, vibration resistance, airflow patterns, acoustic limits, failover, RF emissions and tolerance requirements.

The flexible Teko DAS solution delivers robust single or multi-carrier in-building and outdoor cellular coverage.  Its fully integrated set of software programmable RF points-of-interface manage the convergence of multiple carrier bands into a single distribution system.  The Teko RF Fiber Convergence (RFC) system significantly reduces the amount of fiber needed to deliver cellular coverage across long ranges, saving carriers as much as ten times on traditional C-RAN front-haul infrastructure.  As the first platform to provide a complete C-DAS architecture, it enables C-RAN signal delivery that is not only more cost efficient, but provides the most powerful core technology in the industry for reproducing RF signal into venues and outdoor areas.  The Teko DAS is complemented by a suite of DAS antennas and transmission line connectivity, further ensuring an integrated system for optimal performance within complex venues.
